Jay B. Clare Senior Vice President, Infrastructure and Environment division of URS Corporation

Mr. Clare is a Senior Vice President of the Infrastructure and Environment division of URS Corporation and is the global Business Line Director for Sustainability. This role includes development and leadership of strategic sustainability consulting, greenhouse gas management, energy management, water management, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure design and construction services. He also champions the continued development of URS’ internal sustainability program, including having developed and published URS’ first global Sustainability Report. Additionally, Mr. Clare is the global Business Line Director for Power and a Client Account Manager for a major global oil & gas company. Mr. Clare has held various leadership positions throughout his 25-year career with URS and has participated in and managed a wide-range of environmental projects in the U.S., South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Mr. Clare has a Master of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley.

Johnnie Giles serves as Executive Director of External Affairs for Comcast Corporation and Vice President of External Affairs for Comcast Cable, where he is responsible for developing policy positions and advocacy strategies in support of the company’s various lines of business. Additionally, he serves as the principal interface between Comcast and the national Asian Pacific Islander community organizations and supports Comcast’s Legislative Affairs group in working with the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.


Nicholas Hope Director, Stanford Center for International Development (SCID)

Dr. Hope is the Director of the Stanford Center for International Development (SCID) and its China Program. For over twenty years, Dr. Hope was employed at the World Bank serving in numerous capacities: Director, Office of the Vice President, Europe and Central Asia; Country Director, China & Mongolia; Director, World Bank Resident Staff in Indonesia; and chief of multiple finance, industry and energy divisions. Before joining the World Bank he was lecturer in economics at Monash University. His research interests include policy reform in Asian economies, especially China, India and Indonesia. Dr. Hope received his economics PhD. from Princeton University and earlier degrees from the University of Tasmania and Oxford University, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar.
