Karin Geldfeld is a director of Asset Management in the Abbot Downing San Francisco office. She is responsible for sourcing, researching, and monitoring private capital investments including buyouts, venture capital, mezzanine, and distressed debt, as well as illiquid real assets for Abbot Downing clients. Karin joined the firm in 2012. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Karin spent nine years at the Hewlett-Packard Company, primarily focused on illiquid investments for the company’s pension plans. She was responsible for managing a sizeable and high quality alternative investment portfolio, where her activities ranged across sourcing, researching, committing to, and monitoring private capital fund investments across the alternative investment universe. She also served on several fund advisory boards. Prior to HP, Karin was a consultant with A.T. Kearney, an investment professional with HK Catalyst and commenced her finance career as an investment banker with Hambrecht and Quist in Israel. Karin received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in international development from Stanford University. She also received a master’s degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
